Painting & works on paper
F.A.N. Gallery
221 Arch Street
What you can encounter
F.A.N. Gallery exhibits representational American painting, sculpture and works on paper by both emerging and established artists. Its listed address is on Arch Street, making it a useful anchor between the Second and Third Street gallery corridors.
Try this when you visit
Compare the subject you recognise with the decisions that make it visible. A painting of a room can organise attention through a doorway, a shadow or a patch of colour. Step back to see its overall arrangement, then move closer without touching to observe the marks. You do not need to identify a style before describing what you see.
A question to take with you
Where does your eye go first, and what in the painting sends it there?
Before setting out
Confirm the exhibition, opening arrangements, entrance and accessibility directly with the venue. This directory is a starting point, not a booking or a guarantee that a particular event is open. Descriptions of a programme do not establish which works are on view on your date.
